TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -Oshkosh Defense was awarded a $30.4 million for procurement of the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles series of tactical trucks.
The contract, announced Friday by the Department of Defense, is set to run through December 2020, with the work expected to be performed in Oshkosh, Wis., and Liverpool, N.Y.
The Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles is a series of armored tactical cargo trucks. Variants of the platform are used for troop and equipment transport, vehicle recovery and other other tasks in a utility role.
The cabs of the trucks are fully armored with bullet and shrapnel resistant plates and ballistic glass for the windshield and windows for crew protection.
The A1P2 variant of the FMTV is the standard cargo version of the truck used for moving equipment and supplies.
The Army has obligated the full value of the $30.4 million contract to Oshkosh from fiscal 2018 and 2019 procurement Army funds.
