TEHRAN, December 17 -North Korean leader Kim Jong Un paid tribute to late leaders as North Korea commemorates the seventh anniversary of Kim Jong Il's death, North Korean state media reported Monday.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -North Korean leader Kim Jong Un paid tribute to late leaders as North Korea commemorates the seventh anniversary of Kim Jong Il's death, North Korean state media reported Monday.

Kim visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang, where embalmed bodies of the founding leader Kim Il Sung and the second leader Kim Jong Il are laid in state, North Korea's state newspaper Rodong Shinmun reported.

The report featured a photo in which Kim was accompanied by his key aides of the Worker's Party, including Park Tae-sung, Ri Su-yong, and Choe Ryong-hae.

Kim's public appearance was made in 14 days after he was seen inspecting a shoe factory earlier this month, according to Hankyoreh.

North Korea holds a series of commemorative events on death anniversaries of late leaders. High-ranking officials pay tribute to late leaders at the memorial hall while citizens are ordered to pay a three-minute silent tribute and visit statues of late leaders, according to Joongang Ilbo.

Juche Travel Services, a North Korean travel agency, has released a travel program in which foreign tourists can visit the memorial palace on Feb. 17, a day after former leader Kim Jong Il's birthday. The travel agency recommends visitors to avoid open-toe shoes, jeans, and T-shirts for a visit to the memorial hall.
