Tehran, YJC. Iran and Mexico parliamentarians have stressed cooperation in energy.

Speaking
in a meeting with the head of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee
Gabriela Cuevas in Tehran on Monday, the Speaker of the Iranian parliament Ali
Larijani stated that extremist movements are a plague to the Middle East.
"The
policies of world powers in occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as their
approach to the Syrian crisis have laid the ground for extremist movements in
the region,” he asserted.
Cuevas
in turn pointing to the old civilizations of Iran and Mexico and similar
cultural grounds said "Mexico would like to strengthen friendly relations with Iran,
especially in economic, cultural, and scientific spheres.”
Providing
comments on her country’s extensive Reformist measures in economy and energy in
particular, she pointed out Iran’s opulent energy market and said "The two
countries enjoy vast opportunities for cooperation and sharing experience.
Mexico is willing to expand relations with Iran in that area.”
Iran’s
Majlis Speaker also stated "Cooperation between the Iranian and Mexican
parliaments can be very effective in improving the level of friendly exchange
by promoting a better understanding of the two countries’ capacities and views
in different fields.”
