Tehran, YJC. Grandson of Ruhollah Khomeini says in establishing relations with world powers, one must not lose ones humanity.
Speaking
in a public meeting in Jahrom, Fars, Seyyed Ali Khomeini said "If based on
humanistic and Islamic values, relations with the world are fine, but such relations
must meanwhile include authentic human values.”
"Should
these values order to peace, we will do that; and should they rule otherwise,
we will choose resistance,” exclaimed Khomeini.
He stated "Some imagine that negotiations and
relations with the world, including the US, bring dignity. There we encounter
two points of view, two extremes.”
The
cleric then added "Some believe that we can never engage in relations with the world.
The other extreme is that some believe we must conduct relations with the world
at any price, even if it means losing our values and dignity.”
"Real
dignity lies in values. Relations with the world are fine, but they lack
originality. They are OK if based on humanistic, Islamic values,” he asserted.
