Parliament forbids govt. from using non-domestic products

Tehran, YJC. The Majlis is devising an inspection program to sue governmental organizations if they use foreign products.

Member of the National Production and Economic Breakthrough parliamentary group said that Iran’s legislative body has banned the government from using products made not inside the country, the Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency reports.

Hossein Garousi stating that the use of foreign products by the government will count as a sort of promotion for these products said "The Majlis will act to its observational duty to ensure that these rules are enacted. In case violations are observed they will be relegated to investigational organizations.”

He further stated that foreign products with domestic counterparts will not be given entrance to the country, adding "To realize the Supreme Leader’s order, first we must prevent the import of foreign products that are similar to the domestic ones.”

He further urged the Ministry of Economy, the Costumes, and other respective organizations to adopt policies necessary to limit imports.
