Tehran, YJC. Activist says Ahmadinejad’s election to presidency came as such a disappointment to the US that its Secretary of State had to resign.
Asadollah
Badamchian, member of the Islamic Coalition Party’s central council, in a talk
show on the state TV pointed to the 2005 and 2009 presidential elections of Iran
when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was chosen as Iran’s president.
He said
"Mr. Ahmadinejad’s election in the 2005 elections conveyed a message to the world
of arrogance, which was the resignation of the US Secretary of State. They took
Mr. Khatami for Gorbachev after whom they were looking for Yeltsin. People voted
for Ahmadinejad to tell the US that there is nothing like that.”
