Tehran, YJC. Jannati has says the Culture Ministry no more regards previously banned writers as ineligible to write new books.

Culture Minister Ali Jannati who was speaking to reporters in the sidelines of the mourning ceremony of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s late mother said "There are no more banned authors. There were many whose books would not get published because of their very selves. But now we read the books and then publish them. We no more regard authors as banned. We see the book, not the person who wrote it.”

Jannati further pointed to the closure of the Association of Journalists and said "The core of what is there about the Association of Journalists has to do with the Labor Ministry and it is something about guilds. Its closure is also due to the Intelligence Ministry’s file. We believe that with the new approach adopted by the Labor, Intelligence, and Culture ministries an atmosphere is prevailing now under which we are expecting soon to see the reopening of the association.”
