Tehran, YJC. Beheshtipour has said that the recent Volgograd blast might have come as a result of Russia’s support for Syria.

Hassan Beheshtipour, Russian affairs expert, said in interview with Pana "First of all it must be said that the bombing is important in two ways. First, it is the time of the blast which coincides with the Russian Winter Olympics. Second, the reattempt made for the bombing.”

"This is no doubt a preestablished measure. In fact it signifies the terrorist groups’ insistence on Russia not to support Syria,” he added.

Providing comments on the event’s agents, he said "More than anything else, it is likely that the Salafi groups might have done this act of terror. But room must be kept for the possibility that Saudi Arabia’s intelligence services can also have had a hand in it.”

"The operation was one hundred percent prearranged,” he asserted.

The Volgograd blast happened on Monday morning where 4 kg of explosives were set off by a suicide bomber in a bus where 15 were killed and 27 wounded.

It followed another bombing which took place on Sunday, killing 18 and wounding 40.
