The firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, time-and-material contract, announced Thursday by the Defense Department, will call for Boeing to provide trained personnel to use and maintain AMDS equipment at six locations throughout Saudi Arabia.

The personnel will also train RSAF members on how to operate and maintain the equipment, the Pentagon said.

To date, the RSAF has the third largest number of F-15s in its fleet, behind Japan and the United States. The RSAF has 16 F-15 Eagle and 28 F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets in service, along with 21 F-15 Eagle jets used for training.

Work on the contract, which will be performed in Saudi Arabia, is expected to be completed Nov. 4, 2023.

The Air Force has obligated $8.7 million in foreign military sales funds at the time of the award.
