Iran, Turkey’s top diplomats hold talks in Istanbul

TEHRAN, October 30 - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu held a bilateral meeting in Istanbul for talks on various issues.

Iran, Turkey’s top diplomats hold talks in IstanbulTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The senior Iranian and Turkish diplomats met on Tuesday morning on the sidelines of a trilateral ministerial meeting.

In the gathering, Zarif and Cavusoglu discussed Tehran-Ankara interaction and the ways to promote mutual cooperation.

They also talked about the major regional and international developments.

In a separate meeting, Zarif held talks with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on Tehran-Baku relations as well as the latest developments in the region and the Muslim world.

Zarif is in Istanbul for the sixth trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the five previous meetings, Iran, Turkey and the Azerbaijan Republic exchanged views on a broad range of issues in various economic fields including transit, transportation, energy, and customs, as well as political issues.

The three neighbors have also coordinated political cooperation on regional issues like contributing to peace and stability in the region.
