TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -Authorities responded to a shooting at a North Carolina high school Monday that injured one student, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at Butler High School in Matthews, N.C., Monday morning. Officials said a student was shot and another was arrested.
The school was secured and the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, police said.
The wounded student was hospitalized but their exact condition was not reported.
Police said they found the weapon and students' families were notified by phone.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District is located about 12 miles from Charlotte.
