Tehran, YJC. The President of Iran has felicitated the Pope of the Catholic Church and the followers on the occasion of Christmas.
In a letter to Pope Francis, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani
congratulated him and the Catholic body on the occasion of Christmas and the
new Christian year.
"What makes me and other believers in divine religions confident
in your progress toward peace, freedom, and justice is your long history of
belief in dialogue between religions,” Rouhani's letter reads.
Rouhani has appreciated the Pope for his efforts to bring Christian
sects as well as the Islamic and Jewish societies together; along with his good
offices in fighting poverty.
Rouhani further states that Christmas would be a good occasion
to strengthen mutual respect among followers of diverse religions.
