Tehran, YJC. Majlis Speaker says it was lowly of the European parliamentary delegation to Iran to covertly meet opposition activists.
Majlis
Speaker Ali Larijani criticized the European parliamentary delegation for
meeting two 2009 presidential election opposition activists.
"The
thievish meeting by the parliamentary delegation was a disgraceful act,” he
said, adding "It was not on par with the European Parliament’s status.”
Larijani
further said "If they had intended to meet people they must have given their
schedule. Then the Iranian side might have or have not accepted it. But to make
thievish, clandestine meetings during an official trip was an undiplomatic act.”
Larijani
maintained that the European delegation’s visit to Iran had been arranged with
no preconditions.
