Tehran, YJC. Nutrition specialist says following a good diet prevents feeling cold in the winter.

Nutrition specialist Khadijeh Rahmani in interview with DanaKhabar said "In the cold season the body’s energy does not increase. If people do not adopt a good diet and dress well the cold will make their body shiver which indicates that the body suffers energy shortage.”

"They must not abandon carrot, pumpkin, and dark vegetables in the cold season. They must also use warm food and drinks to keep their body temperature high,” she added.

She further said that having fruits of the citrus genus will increase the amount of vitamin C in the body and help it fight the cold.

"Also, using soup, warm drinks, and hot seasonings like pepper will build body temperature,” she maintained.

Vitamins B1 and B6 are also highly important for the functioning of muscles, therefore their shortage will cause the limbs to shiver in the cold, she asserted.
