Tehran, YJC. The Foreign Ministers of Iran and Kuwait have discussed relations in a meeting in Kuwait.
The
Foreign Ministers of Iran, Mohammadjavad Zarif, and Kuwait, Sabah Al-Khalid
Al-Sabah, met in Kuwait on Sunday, Fars reports.
Zarif
said "We believe that a new era has begun in Iran’s relations with the region,
which must turn into a new chapter of friendly relations with attempts by all
regional countries.
Pointing
out the Iranian president’s stress on healthy relations with neighbor
countries, the Foreign Minister said "Besides geographical factors, our
religious and cultural intersections tie us together. All the neighbor
countries must use the favorable atmosphere.”
"We
prefer the neighbors over all because our relations with the neighbors are
tight,” Zarif maintained.
Pointing
to extremism and tribal sedition as the major challenges facing the area, he
added "This is a fire that is not all walled in one place, but will catch the
whole area. So it is necessary for us to contain the fire with joint efforts by
all regional countries.”
