Tehran, YJC. President says Iran’s second nuclear power plant is to be built in Bushehr province as well.
President Rouhani, who had visited the South Pars oil field phases under
construction, attended the administrative council meeting of Bushehr on Saturday
evening.
Addressing the operation of the Bushehr power plant, he said "Our first nuclear
power plant is operational and it will be expanded soon, God willing. It is
expected that the second power plant will be also built in Bushehr province. We
hope that we can tap the potentials of the province.”
"For its great reserves of oil and gas, an example of which we saw today
in Asaluyeh, the province of Bushehr enjoys great gifts. Asaluyeh can run the
whole country by itself,” Rouhani maintained.
He added "There is the shared gas field which our southern neighbor uses
twice as we do. But we are to use it not only as much as, but highly probably
more than them by the end of this administration 4 years from now, thanks to
the expertise we have in oil, gas, and petrochemicals.”
The president mentioned "Iran was made the Secretary General of the Gas
Exporting Countries Forum for the first time. As for the Economic Cooperation
Organization, the countries will come with their ministers and Iran has grown
more influential in the Middle East.”
