Young jurors named for Iran’s UNICEF-supported international film festival for children

TEHRAN, September 02 - The 31st edition of Iran’s International Film Festival for Children and Youth has announced the names of young jury members in the international section of the cultural event.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The latest edition of the festival, which opened in the historic city of Isfahan on Thursday and will run until Wednesday, will feature a group of young foreign cinema aficionados as well as a number of local movie experts, said the event’s news headquarters on Saturday.

The foreign figures are Mathias Lyngso Dobrick and Mads BorupTrellebor from Denmark, Nikoloz Kobidze and Diego Mikava from Georgia, Hmdu al-Hussein from Syria, Liliana Lea Landi from Italy, Louise Lemounaud-Lumet from France, Mareiya Safieddine from Lebanon, Aghil Zeifollah al-Ghuri from Yemen, and Hussein Ahmed Malik from Iraq.

The two Iranian critics from the children and youth section are Afra Haji Moradi, Asal Bahador, and Mohammad Sadra Beheshtian.

The festival, which is held with the cooperation of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), is highly welcomed by domestic and international filmmakers. It also consists of two sections, namely national and international, in both competition and non-competition categories.

Selected films of France’s International Film Festival (Festimaj), Berlin International Short Film Festival (Interfilm) and a pair of Japanese filmmaker and artist Hayao Miyazaki’s animations will be screened in the festival.
