TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The preliminary stage of the country’s 41st national Quran contest was held in all the provinces earlier this month in the holy city of Qom.
The contenders competed in the categories of recitation and memorization of the Quran.
According to the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, 16 Qaris and 13 memorizers of the entire Quran have made it to the final round.
Seyed Hamid Reza Moqaddasi, Mojtaba Mohammadbeigi, Ali Khoshnood, Amin Abdi and Mohsen Qassemi are among those who qualified for the finals in the category of recitation.
In memorization of the entire Quran, the finalists include Reza Golshahi, Mahmoud Noroozi, Navid Razmjoo, Mohammad Javad Moradi and Mohammad Rasool Takbiri.
Iran’s national Quran competition is annually held with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
