TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Hojat-ol-Islam Biniaz said a total of 820 men and women studying at the university’s branches and affiliated schools in Lebanon are memorizers of Quran.
Of those, he said, 690 are memorizers of ten to 29 Juzes (parts) of the Quran and are working to learn the entire Holy Book by heart.
According to the cleric, there are Dar-ol-Quran centers in all of Al-Mustafa university branches and schools.
He said the university has been intensifying efforts to promote memorization of the Quran among the students.
Hojat-ol-Islam Biniaz also referred to the participation of Lebanese students in the university’s annual Quran and Hadith festival, saying some 1130 students from the Arab country took part in the 4th edition of the event last year.
Al-Mustafa International University is an Iranian academic center with many overseas branches for non-Iranian Muslims who seek to study Islam and related subjects.
It has been established to expand and introduce Islamic and religious teachings in the world through modern facilities and technologies.
The university offers graduate, post-graduate and PhD courses in such fields as Fiqh (jurisprudence), theology, history of Islam and interdisciplinary fields with an Islamic approach.
