Chaos reported in Abu Dhabi Airport after drone attack

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Lebanese journalist Ali Mourad, who is specialized with Gulf affairs, reported that several flights from and to Abu Dhabi were delayed.

“As reports emerged of targeting Abu Dhabi International Airport with Sammad III Yemeni drone, flights from and to Abdu Dhabi were delayed,” Mourad tweeted on Monday.

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority in a statement to official news agency WAM denied the airport was targeted, “affirming UAE air traffic operates business as usual.”

The UAE is part of a Saudi Arabia-led coalition that has been for more than 3 years launching a brutal aggression against Yemen.

The aggression was waged in March 2015, in a bid to restore control to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is Riyadh’s ally.

Tens of thousands of people have been killed and injured in the strikes launched by the coalition, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

The coalition, which includes in addition to Saudi Arabia and UAE: Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Kuwait, has been also imposing a harsh blockade against Yemenis.
