Tehran, YJC. Health Ministry says it has issued a call-up for Iranian practitioners to be sent to Africa.
Speaking in interview with Tasnim, the Health Diplomacy Representative
of Iran’s Ministry of Health Rasoul Dinarvand said "Over in South Africa, they
regard Iran as a prestigious country. In terms of providing for the human
resource in the health section they had demands for their country which the
Health Minister has a positive approach to the matter, so there is a committee
pursuing the matter in Iran and the Health Minister of South Africa will be
visiting Iran soon.”
Dinarvand added "We believe that dispatching practitioners there is an
opportunity for our country so that our practitioners will gain international
experience. We promised them 400 practitioners. The call is to be issued soon
by the ministry. Signing the practitioners up will be carried out after
agreement with South Africa is made.”
"I have to add that right now a
number of Iranian doctors are there in South Africa. They have done well in
showing off the capabilities of Iranian practitioners. We have also announced
ready to educate medical students from South Africa,” he added.
The Health Diplomacy Representative of the Ministry of Health further
said "There is much demand by South Africa for educating their students in Iran.
They have proposed 1,200 of their students to be given the courses in 5 years. The
issue is under consideration at the Ministry of Health and it will be
applicable when signed and finalized.”
