TEHRAN, August 22 -On another day of the deadly campaign led by the regime in Riyadh against Yemen, Saudi warplanes have conducted airstrikes on the provinces of Hajjah and Sa'ada.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Yemen’s al-Masirah television network reported that the warplanes targeted a residential building in Abs district of Hajjah on Wednesday.
The Saudi warplanes pounded the district of Razih in the northern province of Sa’ada. There were no immediate reports of possible casualties. Also in Sa’ada, Saudi Arabia conducted rocket and artillery attacks on Minbah district.
Saudi Arabia and some of its allies, including the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Sudan, launched a brutal war, code-named Operation Decisive Storm, against Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, Yemen’s former president and a staunch ally of Riyadh, and crush the popular Houthi Ansarullah movement.
The Saudi-led aggression has taken a heavy toll on the country's infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories. The United Nations has already said that a record 22.2 million Yemenis are in dire need of food, including 8.4 million threatened by severe hunger.
In retaliation for the Saudi aggression, Yemeni army and allied popular committees target Saudi military positions.
On Wednesday, a snipers unit of Yemeni army and allied popular committees killed a Saudi soldier and another Sudanese in the kingdom's southwestern border region of Jizan.
On Tuesday, Yemeni air defense units shot down two Saudi-led reconnaissance drones in flight over a border area in Jizan.
Several Western countries, the United States and Britain in particular, are also accused of being complicit in the ongoing aggression as they supply the Riyadh regime with advanced weapons and military equipment as well as logistical and intelligence assistance.
