TEHRAN, August 22 - Thousands of Palestinians said their Eid prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in the holy city of Quds (Jerusalem) on Tuesday.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Faras Debs, an official with the Islamic Awqaf Department of Quds, estimated the number of worshippers attending prayers at around 100,000.
In his Eid al-Adha sermon, Al-Aqsa Mosque prayer leader Sheikh Muhammad Hussein underlined the Palestinian people’s resolve to defend Quds and al-Aqsa against Israel’s attempts to Judaize the city.
Eid al-Adha (the Feast of Sacrifice) is an important festival on the Islamic calendar which marks the climax of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
During the festivities, Muslims pay tribute to Prophet Abraham's (AS) submission to the divine order of sacrificing his son.
