Tehran, YJC. Lawmaker says the 5 Caspian Sea littoralstates consider the security of the sea devoid of any external forces.

Mehdi Sanai, member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis, in interview with ICANA said "The Caspian Sea security draft is one of the main achievements of the Caspian legal system among the 5 littoral countries which has been under consideration in the past 15 years.”

The Nahavand representative to the Majlis asserted "One of the issues commonly held by the Caspian Sea littoral states is the security of the area and warding off any foreign forces via local procedures.”

He added that the draft signed last year in Baku is currently being considered by the National Security Committee of the Majlis.

"There were problems arising from mismatches between the English and the Persian texts regarding the entities and organizations related to the agreement. The National Security Committee is busy solving the problems and as soon as the two texts match, the draft will be passed by the committee,” he said.
