Tehran, YJC. Rouhani says negotiations can have constructive results only if following reason.

Hassan Rouhani who was speaking in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday pointed to the ongoing Iran-West negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program and said "We always said that the talks must follow reason and rationality. It will not be of any effect to bring gunpowder to the table. Threats can never be effective on the negotiation table. Our people have always resisted threats and they will continue to do so. Yet on the other hand they have always been ready to work within the framework of reason, and they are so now.”

"The opportunity which has come by today, created by our people on the elections in a political breakthrough, is a unique opportunity. All must use this opportunity and this window which has been opened,” the president asserted.

He further said "Of course we will rely on internal resources, physical, and above all, our human resources for development. We can rely on ourselves to fare on the path of development. But all the while we have wanted to have positive relations with others as well. We are after regional stability and peace.”

Rouhani added "If our negotiations with the 5+1 are successful it will benefit the entire region. There is no doubt that successful negotiations will benefit all. We would like a win-win situation. If one intends to force a way on the negotiations, he has to know that the talks won’t come off. The results will not be durable either.”
