Tehran, YJC. President says Iran has given the world a unique opportunity which the Western nuclear negotiators must grasp.
In meeting with Japan’s Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida,
Hassan Rouhani pointed to Iran’s nuclear talks and said "This is the 3rd
round of talks in the last 83 days that the 11th administration has
been in office.”
The president stated "The Islamic Republic of Iran would
like the world’s public opinion to know that Iran’s nuclear activities and
technology are only peaceful and that the country’s entire activities are
performed under the International Atomic Energy Organization and within the
framework of the NPT,” adding "the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to resolve
any logical concern regarding its nuclear program.”
Stressing mutual understanding and respect, Rouhani asserted
that threats and sanctions will solve no problem, but will rather complicate the
matter.
He further maintained "The negotiators must give heed to the
point that this is a unique situation presented to all by the Iranian nation on
the June 14 election. One of the principal tenets adopted by the Iranian nation
is to cooperate with the world.”
"I hope the side negotiating Iran on the 5+1 talks would
grasp the unique opportunity which the Iranian nation has given the West and
the international community, so that we may reach the positive outcome in a
reasonable while,” Rouhani added.
