TEHRAN, July 23 - Iranian researchers have produced an anti-Parkinson drug named ‘L-dopa’.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The drug was developed using tyrosine method in which tyrosine acts as a biocatalyst.
Every year 100 tons of L-dopa is produced using asymmetric chemical synthesis.
The chemical synthesis process needs expensive metals which are not compatible with the environment and are used as catalysts.
