TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Gaza Strip has seven passages to the outer world which are now controlled by Tel Aviv and Egypt.
The Palestinian city is either surrounded by sea from west, or by Egypt and Israeli regime respectively from south, east and north.
According to Al-Resala website, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued the order of closing Karam Abu Salem, the only commercial crossing to Gaza. This week, the Israeli regime announced that it blocks the crossing entirely, except for importing drug in the time of need.
The chief of Gaza's popular committee for resisting blockade Jamal al-Khizri also said the Israeli regime earlier banned the import of over thousand kinds of commodities to Gaza.
The ban included raw materials, construction building materials, texture, clothing, and electrical equipment, he added.
Egypt also blocked Rafah crossing today on Tuesday just hours after Karam Abu Salem crossing was closed.
Apart from the Rafah crossing, which is under Egyptian control, Gaza has six other passageways, namely Beit Hanoun or Iser, Al-Shujaeeah, Al-Qarrarah or Kosufim, Al-Awad or Sufa, Karam Abu-Alam, and Al-Mintar all under the control of the Zionist regime.
All of these passages, except for Rafah, Abu'alem, and Eiser crossings, which are sometimes opened under special regulations, have been closed for more than 11 years.
