Thousands flock to Champs Elysees to celebrate France World Cup win

TEHRAN, July 16 - Tens of thousands of France fans flooded the Champs Elysees avenue in central Paris on Sunday to celebrate France's World Cup win.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) The two-kilometer long road was jammed with fans in blue white and red who let off fireworks and flares and danced -- some on the rooftops -- after Les Bleus' 4-2 victory over Croatia.

In bars across Paris, ecstatic fans jumped for joy when they heard the result, including Loic Miseriaux who said the victory had brought everyone together.

The win marks the second time France have been crowned world champions, 20 years after the first victory on home soil, and they will process down the Champs Elysees on Monday with the cup before meeting French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.
