TEHRAN, July 12 - Ali Akbar Velayati, Senior Adviser to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on International Affairs, said Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for boosting oil cooperation with Iran to $50 billion.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Velayati who is in Moscow delivered the message of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to Putin.
Velayati said during a meeting with the Russian president, Putin had called for increasing the volume of mutual oil cooperation between Iran and Russia to $50 billion.
“Russia is ready for investment in Iranian oil and gas fields to $50 billion. This is a huge volume and could replace western companies which withdrew from Iran.”
Putin also said Iran and Russia would keep cooperation in Syria and region to support legitimate governments in the countries and Iraq and would back their territorial integrity, he said, adding the bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Moscow would continue in defense and political fields.
