Tehran, YJC. British actor Ben Kingsley is going to star as Iran’s Shah in his two final years.
Lavender Pictures is going to make a film
about the life of the Iranian Shah during his last two years.
It is said that the British Sir Ben Kingsley
will play the leading role, an informed source told YJC.

Nickelson, Co-Chairwoman and Co-Founder of Women in Film and Television, said "We are doing our first feature film, Shah,
starring Sir Ben Kingsley as Mohammed Reza Shah. It's a political drama, it is
not meant to demonize or glorify Shah, but tell the story of what happened the
last 2 years of his life
.”
"I have heard from our Iranian associate,
that we have been invited by the Ministry of Culture to shoot in Shah's Palace.
If we can pull it off, this would be amazing for the project,” she maintained.
Nickleson added "I just thought I would let
you know. I am very excited about the project, Gateway Films in the UK, and
Lavender Pictures, Kingsley's production company, are the other producers.”
Ben Kingsley also has the role of another Iranian
historical figure, Avecina, in his artistic career.
Ben appeared as an Iranian military officer
in House of Sand and Fog in 2003 as well.
