TEHRAN, July 08 - A passenger with hundreds on board has come off the rails in northwest Turkey killing 10 people and injuring scores of others.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - State news agency Anadolu said five wagons came off the tracks as a result of the incident on Sunday in a region near the Greek border. The train was carrying 362 passengers and was headed to Istanbul.
According to later reports quoting the Health Ministry officials, the train was derailed after heavy rain and a landslide on to the tracks.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's office said Erdogan had received information from the ministers of transport and interior about the incident, and sent condolences for those killed.
Television images showed emergency personnel walking to reach the crash site. Private news channel CNN Turk said the accident was caused by a collapsed bridge.
