Tehran, YJC. Official says Iran is going to use the Basij to form a “shadow navy”.
Speaking in a conference, Brigadier General Aliakbar
Kharatian, Coordinating Deputy of the IRGC Naval Force, said "The naval Basij
must be quickly formed in cooperation with the IRGC Naval Force and the Basij
Organization.”
He pointed out that the Basij has great potentials, part of
which must be provided with naval educations in order to form a shadow navy.
He further maintained that in coastal provinces, the Basij
must adopt naval features in order to turn into an aid for the IRGC’s combat
power in the sea.
