Tehran, YJC. Salehi says Iran is producing as much uranium as it needs and it has not suspended the enrichment.
The
Head of Iran’s Nuclear Energy Organization Aliakbar Salehi stressing that the
country’s 20-pct. enrichment of uranium has never stopped said "The amount of
plate fuel that is needed in the complex is allocated to the reactor of Tehran every
month.”
He added
"The 20-percent uranium and fuel plates are made domestically. There has been
no suspension in the production. It had not been suspended previously either.”
In reaction
to the Intelligence Minister who has said that the four arrested at nuclear facilities
have not been saboteurs, but simply metal thieves, Salehi said "There is no
problem if the Intelligence Minister has made investigations and says they have
been thieves; but they must have been some thieves to have undermined that
concrete wall in such circumstances and tried to enter the site.”
He refused
to provide any further comments on the issue and said "We accept whatever the
Intelligence Minister says about it, because we handed these people to the Intelligence
Ministry.”
Upon
discovery, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization had called the arrested
four nuclear saboteurs who intended to damage the facilities.
