Tehran, YJC. Secretary of Expediency Council says the down-to-USA slogan will be abandoned only if the US starts to realize the rights of the Iranian nation.
Speaking with Fars news agency, Mohsen Rezaei said "Those who want to abandon the ‘Down with USA’ motto may demand the Americans to recognize Iranians’ rights and stop misbehaving, else the people of Iran will continue to shout the slogan until they realize their rights.”
The Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council then added "The Iranian nation is testing the government of the US for the nth time. I hope Americans do not fail the test like the past. I hope they show they have changed.”
"If Americans fail this test they will be severely damaged, which will turn into a historical sorrow for them,’ he asserted.
Rezaei further said "It would be better if US officials changed their behavior and remove the sanctions as soon as possible. It would be better if they did not repeat their behavior toward the Khatami administration with the Rouhani administration.”
He added "The key to abandoning the ‘Down with USA’ slogan is in the hands of Americans themselves. For the slogan to be abandoned, Americans need to do something and consider a number of issues. They will have to recognize the basic rights of the Iranian nation and stop misbehaving.”
