US ship carrying chemicals harbors in Persian Gulf's

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Brigadier General Abulfazl Shekarchi reported of a US ship containing chemical materials, which has harbored in one of Persian Gulf's countries.

The ship named as Ray Cape has entered the region recently, escorted by a US frigate, the General added.

" A review of the American ship Ray Cape shows that the ship has been on the coast of such areas as Iraq and Syria, where Americans have already taken military action under the pretext of chemical weapons using" General Shekarchi said.

The Spokesman asserted that the American ship has entered the region with the aim of transferring the chemicals to Iraq and Syria.

US must be warned of the probable deleterious consequences of such an action, General Shekarchi noted.

According to the General, the news disclosed shows that the chemical attacks in parts of Syria and Iraq were carried out with US prior plan.

"We have detailed information of the American ship, including the number of crew and the chemicals it carries; the details and objectives of the presence of this American flotilla in the region will be published in the future" the General stated.

Suffering successive defeats in the region, US resorted to accuse Iraqi and Syrian governments of using chemical weapons against their people, but the claims were never proved.

Earliaer in April 2017, US accused Assad's government of carrying out chemical attacks against his people.

The Syrian government surrendered its stockpiles of chemical weapons in 2014 to a joint mission led by the UN and the OPCW, which oversaw the destruction of the weaponry.

However, Western governments and their allies have never stopped pointing the finger at Damascus whenever an apparent chemical attack has taken place.

In April 2017, a suspected sarin gas attack hit the town of Khan Shaykhun in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib, taking at least 80 lives. Accusing Damascus, the US then launched several dozen Tomahawk cruise missiles at a Syrian air base, taking the lives of about 20 people including both Syrian soldiers and civilians.

In the course of the liberation operation in Eastern Ghouta, which began in February, Moscow has repeatedly warned that different factions of militant outfits in the region could stage gas attacks in a bid to frame the Syrian government.

The suspected chemical weapons attack, however, hit the town of Douma in the Eastern Ghouta region in the suburban area near Damascus on April 7, reportedly killing at least 60 people and wounding more than 1,000 others.
