Trump-Putin summit set for July 16 in Helsinki, FinlandTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Helsinki, Finland, on July 16, the White House announced Thursday.

The two leaders will "discuss relations between the United States and Russia and a range of national security issues," a statement from the White House said.

According to Russia's state TASS news agency, Trump and Putin will also discuss developing U.S.-Russian relations and "vital issues of the international agenda."

The announcements came a day after U.S. national security adviser John Bolton visited Moscow to discuss the summit.

Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said the meeting would likely last for several hours and include some kind of working breakfast and joint news conference.

The meeting will follow trips by Trump to a NATO summit in Belgium on July 11 and Britain two days later.

Trump and Putin have met twice before, during the G7 meeting in Germany and a leaders' summit in Vietnam last year, but July's will be the first formal summit between the two.

Word of a possible Trump-Putin summit emerged after the historic meeting this month between the U.S. president and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
