It is said that Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammadjavad Zarif
is to visit Africa this weekend.
The Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs
Hossein Amir Abdollahian appeared on the national TV on Sunday evening to talk
about the Foreign Ministry’s programs in the current week.
"The Minister of Foreign Affairs is to visit South Africa
and Turkey this weekend,” he said.
Abdollahian further pointed out that the Foreign Minister’s
visit follows his attempt to launch the Iran-South Africa Join Commission.
"The Foreign Minister will follow negotiations on foreign
policy and Iran’s view of Africa,” he stated.
He also said that Zarif is to meet the President of South
Africa, adding that the Foreign Minister is accompanied by representatives from
the private trade section.
The Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs said
that in his visit to Turkey, Zarif will address the Geneva II meeting as well
as mutual cooperation on regional concerns.
