TEHRAN, June 28 - Fire has engulfed a section of the Abadan Petrochemical Company in southern Iran, leaving one person dead and 18 more wounded.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The blaze erupted at the complex’s Unit 600, which specializes in producing PVC plastic polymers, around 12:00 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
One died in the fire, suffering 100-percent burns, said the Center for Accidents and Emergency Management of Khuzestan Province, where Abadan is located.
It took firefighters around four hours to put out the fire at the complex, which is located near Abadan Oil Refinery.
The cause of incident was still unknown.
