TEHRAN, June 17 - US President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani has implied that FBI agents and special counsel prosecutors should be taken to a psychiatric institution instead of investigating Trump administration officials in the persisting Russia probe.

Giuliani hints FBI agents, prosecutors need mental exam

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Instead of investigating President Trump, they should go to Bellevue,” Giuliani said on Saturday, referencing the infamous psychiatric ward in New York City’s Manhattan district.

“Wackadoodles,” he added, waving his hands by his head with wide eyes.

The remarks by the former New York City mayor came as he was campaigning for Republican Congressman Dan Donovan in Staten Island – who is being challenged in a close re-election race by former New York Representative Michael Grimm -- local news outlets reported.

Giuliani further emphasized that the special counsel's probe into possible ties between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia is “made up of a bunch of distorted human beings who cried” when Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton lost the election in 2016.

“Ahhhhh we want Hillary,” Giuliani said mockingly of the FBI. “What’s going to happen? I need a psychiatrist.”

The remarks by Giuliani came just days after the Justice Department's (DOJ) internal watchdog released its highly anticipated report on Thursday, which found that former FBI Director James Comey “deviated” from FBI and DOJ norms while investigating Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.

This is while Trump insisted on Friday that the report “totally exonerates” him of any wrongdoing. The report, however, did not investigate his conduct.

Trump and Giuliani have frequently censured special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and described it as a "witch hunt" on many occasions.
