Tehran, YJC. Nematbakhsh says while vehicle parts are four times their prices a couple of years ago, car manufacturers have only doubled the prices for their products.
Ahmad Nematbakhsh, Head of the Car Manufacturers Association
in interview with YJC said "Although the price for all vehicle parts has tripled
or quadrupled, our vehicles are only 2 to 2.5 times more expensive; that’s why
last year we suffered Rls40 billion.”
"This year also we were much damaged. Saipa car manufacturing
group, for example, sold 52 thousand vehicles in the first 3 months of this
year to suffer a Rls1.3 thousand billion loss,” he added.
He further said "The government must assign real prices or let
the manufacturers price vehicles, because right now car manufacturers get
nothing but loss.”
Nematbakhsh provided comments that aluminum has moved up
from Rls20,000 per kilo to Rls80,000; and tires from Rls330,000 to Rls1,050,000.
"All these influence the cost for a car, so there is no way
for us but to increase the prices,” he maintained.
