Tehran, YJC. Majlis Committee of Development has given okay to Iran’s political capital to be moved out of Tehran.

Seyyed Ahsan Alavi, member of the Committee of Development of the Majlis of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has said that the committee has agreed to the proposal to move Iran’s political center out of Tehran.

The lawmaker said "In today’s session six major topics of the case were addressed, such as the formation of a supreme council that will consist of the President, the First Vice President, the Mayor of Tehran, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, and a number of other officials.”

He added that the operations to locate and design the target place are estimated to be accomplished in one year.

"The committee in general agreed to the proposal. Although there were a number of opposite views, the voting was done to the endorsement of the plan; because due to the booming increase in population, the city’s political and governmental issues have to be separated,” Alavi pointed out.

The committee is going to further discuss the topic in its next session tomorrow.
