Quds Day rally held in Turkey's Istanbul

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The rally was characterized by anti-Zionism and anti-US chants and banners reading 'Quds belongs to Islam', 'Down with the US' and 'Down with Israel'.

The participants at the end of the rally in a resolution condemned the step by the US in moving its embassy to Quds and recognition of the holy city as the capital of the Zionist regime.

They also emphasized that all the occupied territories will be returned to the Palestinians, and the world will see the end of the US and Israel as it saw the collapse of Rome and Byzantine Empires.

The occasion was also marked in other Turkish cities, such as Ankara and Malatya.

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on August 7, 1979, designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the Quds Day and the day of Islam's life.

Millions of people in other parts of the world, including Iran, Syria and Iraq, also took part in Quds Day rallies on Friday to express their solidarity with the Palestinians.
