Tehran, YJC. Lawmaker says Iran has no time to waste on nuclear negotiations and the West better attend the talks with full privileges.
Vice
Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis said
in interview with Mehr New Agency "The West must attend the negotiations with
full privileges the same way the Iranian representative does, hope we can reach
a tangible outcome.”
"If
this round is not the West’s last chance, it is its best time to finish the job
and get a good result,” asserted Mansour Haqiqatpour, adding "talks at the level
of deputy foreign ministers, though, are not enough for us. We are attending the
talks with our Foreign Minister, so they must have done the same.”
He added
that Iran has certain red lines for its nuclear activities, including an
enrichment system as befits the country’s need for producing clean energy and
medicine.
"We
cannot forget about the clean energy, which comes with 5 percent enrichment,
and the production of drugs with 20 percent enriched uranium. If the West say
we cannot have the 20 percent uranium, what are they going to give us instead? If
they provide us with drugs and remove the entire sanctions we will consider their
offer. These are of course personal statements and not the stance of the country
or the National Security Committee,” he asserted.
He further
stated "We are using the 20 percent enriched uranium to produce drugs, which
are being used by around 850 thousand people. So, we cannot wait for the West
to give us drugs the way they please.”
