TEHRAN, June 05 - The Pentagon’s inspector general is launching an investigation into the conduct of the former personal physician of US President Donald Trump, who at the same time was also being considered to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "The DoD Office of Inspector General has initiated an investigation into allegations related to Rear Admiral (Lower Half) Ronny L. Jackson," said a spokesman at the office.
The list of accusations includes casually dispensing prescription drugs, drinking on the job and that he created a hostile work environment.
Jackson withdrew his nomination in late April amid the allegations -- which were detailed in a memo released by the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee ranking member Jon Tester – a Democrat from Montana -- that were based on interviews with 20 current and former colleagues of Jackson.
Jackson denies the allegations and in an April statement said: “The allegations against me are completely false and fabricated. If they had any merit, I would not have been selected, promoted and entrusted to serve in such a sensitive and important role as physician to three presidents over the past 12 years.”
Jackson is no longer the US President’s private physician but is still working in the White House Medical Unit.

Donald Trump has time and again supported officials under scrutiny and Jackson is no exception. Back in April Trump tweeted that the Montana senator who detailed Jackson’s misconduct should resign.

In a second tweet, he added that, “Admiral Jackson is the kind of man that those in Montana would most respect and admire, and now, for no reason whatsoever, his reputation has been shattered. Not fair, Tester!”
Trump also threatened revealing secrets about Tester over the episode, saying, “I know things about Tester that I can say, too. And if I said them, he’d never be elected again."
The White House has also denied the accusations and Trump has further stated that Democrats smeared a “great man.”
