Tehran, YJC. Official says that in the coming two weeks, Iran will start seven projects in steel industry.
Head
of the Board of Directors of IMIDRO Mahdi Karbasian in the sidelines of a
session to sign contracts with Italian and German-Iranian companies to expand
the Iranian steel industry said "The contract was made to produce one million
tons of steel in Sirjan. The reduction section which produces direct-reduced iron
has so far had 80 percent progress and it will be inaugurated by the end of the
year. Meanwhile, the second part of the project which is to continue the steel
production line will be carried out by Italian and German-Iranian companies.”
Karbasian
added "So, the Sirjan Steel Company has made contract with the Italian and the
Iranian-German companies.”
He
added that the project is to be operational in 2 years and create close to
1,500 jobs.
He
also said that he had made negotiations with a high-ranking Chinese delegation
to start seven projects in steel and that the deal will be sealed today.
