TEHRAN, June 02 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hailed the growing ties with Italy in recent years, expecting that a much-awaited credit line would facilitate the implementation of agreements between Iran and the major member of the European Union.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In a Saturday letter to his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella, President Rouhani congratulated the Italian leader and nation on the Republic Day –Italy’s National Day celebrated on June 2 each year.
“Constructive interaction and growing ties with the friend country, Italy, a major member of the European Union, on the basis of mutual respect and interests has been a priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran over the past few years,” the Iranian president said.
Praising the enhancement of Tehran-Rome relations in various fields, Rouhani expressed confidence that signing a credit line agreement would pave the way for the easy and accelerated implementation of the documents that the two sides have already signed.
President Hassan Rouhani paid a visit to Italy in January 2016, during which the two countries signed a roadmap for development of ties in political, economic, cultural, tourism, scientific, and technological fields.
