TEHRAN, May 30 - A prominent Iranian Qari has travelled to Finland during the holy month of Ramadan to teach Quran in the European country.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Ali Alizadeh, who is from the holy city of Qom, holds Quran recitation sessions and courses on recitation and Quranic concepts in Helsinki.
He told that there is also a course featuring Tawasheeh (religious singing).
Alizadeh said he also plans to organize a competition on Quran recitation and Adhan (call to prayers) while in Finland.
According to the Qari, the competition will be held on the 23rd day of the holy month (June 8) at Al-Zahra (SA) Mosque in Helsinki.
Muslims from different nationalities residing in Finland are expected to take part in the contest, he went on to say.
In Ramadan, Muslims around the world fast from sunrise to sunset and devote more time to Quranic activities, including reading and contemplating the Quran.
