Israel raids Ramallah camp to arrest 'killers' of soldierTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -Israeli forces raid a Palestinian refugee camp in the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, injuring more than a dozen during a search for alleged killers of a soldier.

The raid on Monday took place against the Amari camp, which houses some 6,000 Palestinians, causing injuries to at least 13 Palestinians, the Health Ministry said.

Dozens of Israeli troops partook in the swoop, sealing the camp’s entrances, firing tear gas canisters and bullets as well as making arrests.

On Saturday, the military announced the death of a soldier who had been injured during a raid in the West Bank a day earlier when Palestinians reportedly dropped a stone slab on his head from a building. It named the fatality as 20-year-old Sgt. Ronen Lubarsky of Special Forces unit.

Israeli media said the trooper had died after being hit by the slab thrown out from a third-floor window.

Israel has stepped up its raids across the Palestinian territories since the US relocation of its embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city of Jerusalem al-Quds earlier this month.

The move flew directly in the face of Palestinians’ demand for the city’s eastern part to be the capital of their future state.

On Sunday, Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
