Tehran, YJC. Not only did the pre-sermon speaker react to ‘Down with USA’ shouts, but the Preacher also called for Iran and the US to “join hands”.
This week’s Friday prayers had to see some special changes
in line with recent developments in Iran-US relations.
First, the pre-sermon speaker Mohammad Hossein Saffar
Harandi, Member of the Expediency Discernment Council and consultant to the
IRGC commandership, reacted to the audience’s "Down to USA” shouts.
Harandi who was pointing to the US Secretary of State as not
having kept his word for recognizing Iran’s right to the enrichment of uranium
was to answer the audience’s shouts of "Down with USA” by saying "Did I shout
any slogan for you to answer me?”
The Friday sermon also attracted quite a lot of attention by
the press for calling Iran and the US to cooperate in removing the sanctions that
are laid on Iran.
Kazem Seddiqi said "Let the Americans join hands with Iran so
that sanctions are broken, because words are not enough and we are waiting for
affirmative action.”
Stressing that "Islam is a religion for peace and symbiosis”,
Sediqi added "From religious commands and verses of the Quran we understand
that as long as the enemy does not lay problems on our way we can make peaceful
contracts and relations with them, even in terms of defense.”
